Dr. Fry guest speaker at 20th Annual Zimmerman Lectureship Symposium • 05.23.11

Dr. Fry delivered a lecture entitled “Healthcare Payment Reform: Surgeons Should Lead the Way” for the Zimmerman Lectureship during the annual meeting held on May 19th, 2011. His presentation highlighted how health care costs have dramatically increased in the United States and why a change in payment methods is necessary. Dr. Fry discussed how surgical care, particularly elective surgical care, is one area of heath care that is easily amenable to changing payment methods. He presented the MPA GlobalPRIME model and described how surgeons and hospitals could work together to improve margins while providing cost effective care.

Dr. Fry also gave this presentation on May 6, 2010 as a guest speaker for the Fort Worth Surgical Society in Fort Worth, TX and April 6, 2011 for Grand Rounds at the Department of Surgery, INOVA Medical Center in Fairfax, VA.
